Sport
fishing is the ideal alternative that is a real, rugged experience
where you actually take part and learn a new skill and hopefully
come home with your dinner! We would recommend
anyone to charter our boat out of Brighton Marina for a fishing trip.
Why not try one of our Masterclass days, which is a full day’s
sea angling participative class, designed for those who are new
to the sport or who have a little experience. Based in Brighton
and run by one of the port’s most knowledgeable skippers,
the emphasis will be on teaching and learning with no pressure to
catch fish, but to learn and put into practice new skills.
The day would begin with a full English breakfast at
Brighton Marina Yacht Club followed by a presentation on
tackle, including baits, knots and rig building, complete
with hands-on sessions. The session ends with a
discussion on the various tachniques for wrecking, rock
and ground fishing.
For the next part of the day, we take lunch aboard charter
boat Aquavitesse and set off for a day’s fishing to put into
practice the skills learnt in the morning session.
We return to Brighton Marina late afternoon, for a debriefing
and Q and A session in
the club, and also to sample
some taster dishes of sea
fishing cooking.
Alternatively try our 2 day wrecking trip with an overnight in
Dieppe France. Experience Sport fishing for Conger Eels, one of
the last real remaining monsters of the deep left in the English
Channel. Or catch large Cod, nothing like you ever see in the fish
and chip shop!
If
you thought Dieppe was like Calais, then you are in for a surprise.
Dieppe is a small fishing port with a marina right in the heart
of the town and the visitor pontoon is just by all the main bars,
hotels and restaurants. It is typical French, good food and wine
right on the doorstep.
The trip would include all food and hotel
accommodation and would typically start at
0800 the first day with the return back to
Brighton by 1600 the next day.
We can make the day or trip as competitive as
you require, a team building experience that your
colleagues will always remember, or simply port against
starboard with a prize for the biggest fish.
